As the forefront of agricultural development, extension agents are crucial to the success of improving farmer’ capability. In the midst of increasingly difficult challenges, it is necessary to have extension agents who have good credibility and integrity.

Student from Master in Agribusiness, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro as well as Chair of Central Java Indonesian Agricultural Extension Association (Perhiptani), Warsana, SP.M.Si, informed that in giving encouragement to farmers to be able to change their way of thinking in line with developments, both cultivation knowledge and technologichal used. Extension workers can play roles as initiator, facilitator, organizer, analyzer and agent of change.

This is in line with one of the graduate profiles of the Masters Program in Agribusiness FPP Undip, namely: Agribusiness Community Development Facilitator, students will learn on how to improve community capacity in facing the challenges of agribusiness development. Moreover, by facing these challenges, in need support from university. It is urgently needed to upgrade technology-based extension materials and methods that are adapted to current conditions. This material will later become training for extension workers in developing the human resource capacity of farmer community.
