The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) through the Center for Research on Sustainable Production Systems and Life Cycle Assessment (SPBDPDH), the Energy and Manufacturing Research Organization has agreed to collaborate with the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, especially the Masters Program in Agribusiness. This agreement was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement by the Head of the SPBDPDH Research Center Nugroho Adi Sasongko and the Dean of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Waluyo Hadi Eko Prasetyono, M.S., M.Agr., IPU, at the FPP Undip Dean’s Building.

The cooperation between the two parties is based on the climate change phenomenon that has occurred in the world, including in Indonesia. Climate change refers to changes in temperature and weather patterns in the long term, especially in the Rawa Pening River Watershed. Research needs to be carried out from a socio-economic aspect regarding the impact of Rawa Pening sedimentation. This is what underlies the memorandum of understanding between SPBDPDH and FPP Undip. The scope includes conducting joint research, joint publications, supervising final project students, disseminating science and technology.

It is hoped that this collaboration agreement will become the basis for carrying out collaborative research activities to support the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education as well as the development of science and technology in the field of climate change and the environment which is beneficial for improving the quality of life of the community.
