Empowering Community Through a Training Program to Increase the Added Value of Cassava. Cassava can easily be found in Tamping Winarno Village, Sukorejo District, Kendal Regency because most of the residents cultivate cassava and work as farmers. Lack of processed cassava products in this village, and marketing is still local marketing. The Community Service Team from Agribusiness Program, FPP UNDIP carried out Community Empowerment activities in Tamping Winarno Village through the Training Program to Increase the Added Value of Cassava. This program is one of the innovations to increase the added value of cassava. The training activity was held at the Tamping Winarno Village hall with participants from members of the Women’s Farmers Group (KWT/Kelompok Wanita Tani Ternak). Participants seemed enthusiastic about the training. KWT members have diversification of cassava processing and sold it in small and limited capacities. The diversification that has been carried out is still limited to mocaf flour, tapioca flour, chips and other traditional foods. Through this training, it can increase economic productivity and open some new job opportunities for KWT members. It is hoped that this diversification training can provide additional added value and that the products will have packaging that is safe, appropriate, attractive and in accordance with regulations for food products. It is hoped that skills in making, packaging and marketing cassava products can further develop the entrepreneurial abilities of women farmer groups.
