Food security is a condition when a household has physical and economic access to obtain food for all family members. Food sufficiency is defined when food is available at the national and regional levels as well as individual level have access to meeting their food needs is uneven. The need to access for healthy food consumption is an absolute thing to do and need collboration with many stakeholders including policy makers and food industry. However, there were many problems to achieve food sufficiency, including household welfare. Low income levels will affect the household consumption pattern, including farmers and fisherman household.
Based on this concept, a student from Agribusiness Masters Program Universitas Diponegoro who received the 2020 LPDP scholarship, Dewi Tri Setyorini (student number: 23020320410002), conducted a study entitled: “Factor Analysis of Food Security and Achievement of Food Patterns Among Farmer and Fisherman Households in Demak Regency”. This study aims were to analyze food consumption patterns, to measure the level of achievement of the food consumption pattern, to identify household food security conditions, and to analyze income, number of family members, housewife education, nutritional knowledge, eating habits, achievement of food consumption pattern and location conditions toward household food security among farmers and fishermen in Demak Regency.
According to Dewi Tri Setyorini, this research is expected to provide an overview of food security level among farmer and fisherman households in Demak Regency and as a recommendation for relevant agencies in formulating policies and programs that are useful in increasing household food security.
