Smallholder dairy farmers was trained in the implementation of Good Dairy Farming Practices and it was conducted at the SALUYU Dairy Farmers Cooperative (PSP), West Java Province. This activity was part of IndoDairy2, an international collaboration involving ACIAR Australia, UNDIP, and IPB University. ACIAR was represented by Dr. Jenny Hanks from the University of Melbourne. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D., a member of the Indodairy2 team from UNDIP, stated that coaching smallholder dairy farmers in the implementation of Good Dairy Farming Practices (GDFP) was aimed to improve milk quality and productivity, as well as farmer welfare. GDFP implementation covers aspects of feed management, livestock health, barn hygiene, and proper milking practices. This activity was crucial to ensuring a sustainable supply of quality fresh milk.
Giving training to dairy farmers in the implementation of GDFP was a crucial investment in improving milk quality, farm productivity, and farmer welfare. Through proper training, farmers can produce high-quality milk, increase income, and contribute to regional economic development.
