In 2022, Indonesia was in outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) after 32 years of being declared FMD free. The PMK case had an economic impact on beef cattle fattening businesses in Rembang Regency. Erdyanti Permatasari, Agribusiness master student, conducted research entitled: “Epidemiology and Economic Impact of Foot and Mouth Disease in Beef Cattle Fattening Businesses in Rembang Regency”. This thesis was supervised by: Ir. Joko Mariyono. Ph.D. and drh. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, Ph.D.
This research aimed to examine the epidemiology of FMD in Rembang Regency, as well analyze the economic impact of PMK on beef cattle fattening businesses in Rembang Regency. Erdyanti stated that the results of this research are expected to provide information and recommendations for related parties in formulating FMD control policies and reduce the impact of economic loss at the farmer level.
